HydroColocate

FOR DAM OWNERS

An operating asset.
A new chapter.

We are sourcing operating hydroelectric plants through a sale, lease or joint venture and plan to prepare sites for a data center partner’s facilities. HydroColocate is the owner’s counterparty; the partner owns and operates its data center facilities and IT equipment. The starting point is your plant’s dependable output and the rights to supply it.

What we look for.

We evaluate the asset as a working power plant first. A promising site brings together generation, access, grid rights and room to build.

CONTINENTAL U.S.
Geographic focus. Schematic map; no individual facilities or acquisition targets are identified.
01

Operating U.S. plant

An existing hydroelectric facility in the continental United States.

02

Year-round generation

A useful steady share of output, assessed from actual interval data and hydrology.

03

Sequential maintenance

Generating units that can be serviced one at a time, with outages reflected in load planning.

04

Existing interconnection

An established grid connection and a clear review of export and service obligations.

05

Reachable fiber

A viable carrier connection, route and service level for the intended workload.

06

A suitable data center site

Space above flood exposure, with equipment access and operational separation.

Sale

A potential acquisition of the plant and associated rights, subject to diligence and required approvals.

Lease

A site and operating structure that aligns control, permitted uses, maintenance and investment.

Joint venture

A potential partnership that defines each party’s contributions, governance and responsibilities.

HOW THE LOAD IS SIZED

Build around output
the plant can sustain.

Nameplate capacity is only the beginning. We assess flows, historical availability, station service, existing offtake and the maintenance schedule before defining a power block for partner data centers.

No minimum capacity or energy price is published: fit is established through site-specific diligence.

FROM INTRODUCTION TO A DECISION

A clear process, step by step.

Introduce the plant

Share location, generation basics and your interest in a sale, lease or partnership.

Agree confidentiality

Request an NDA before sharing non-public records. Define a controlled data room and access.

Establish feasibility

Review generation, contracts, plant authority, cooling, grid and fiber with qualified specialists.

Define the transaction

Develop a term sheet or LOI with clear diligence conditions, approvals and responsibilities.

Confidentiality starts with restraint.

Dam-specific drawings, operating-security details and acquisition targets are kept out of public materials. The first inquiry needs only an introduction.
